ADJUSTMENT
1.
Adjust both brakes simultaneously by rotating the knurled knob on the brake operating handle. If this adjustment is
insufficient, proceed to step no. 2.
2.
Loosen lock nuts on either end of long connecting rod.
3.
Make sure the operating lever is in the off position.
4.
Remove cotter pin and clevis pin from rear clevis on the long connecting rod.
5.
Shorten or lengthen rod as necessary by turning rod or clevis.
6.
Reinstall clevis pin and cotter pin in rear clevis.
7.
Check holding ability of brake. If further adjustment is necessary, repeat steps 4, 5 and 6.
8.
If braking action on the rear wheels is uneven, individual brake action may be adjusted by lengthening or
shortening the short connecting rod between the cross shaft and the brake lever at each rear wheel.
9.
Loosen lock nuts on either end of the short connecting rod.
10.
Make sure the operating handle is in the off position.
11.
Remove cotter pin and clevis pin from rear clevis on the short connecting rod.
12.
Shorten or lengthen rod as necessary by turning rod or clevis.
13.
Reinstall clevis pin and cotter pin in rear clevis.
